MLM Tips for Managing Your Downline

If you expect to have success in network marketing, you will not do it on your own. You need a team. And, just as with any other team, your network marketing downlines entail some management. Left without it, your team will probably stagnate or quit totally.

Unfortunately, nevertheless it's an easy concept to grasp, it isn't necessarily that simple to successfully do. By implementing these network marketing tips with your downline, you will be able to cultivate your business speedier and stronger.

Initially, you must to appreciate the three different types of people that make up your downline:

1. Distributors From Hell. These are the ones that altogether suck the life out of you day after day. They're the dark clouds that have no business in this business. They come to gatherings and make a fuss. They're filled with excuses. The products aren't good, their upline didn't phone back quick enough for them. You name it, they'll complain about it. They will take up most of your time if you let them. The easiest recommendation is to not sponsor them to start with. But if they figure out how to get in your downline, DO NOT spend too much of your day on them. Don't jump into that kind of trap! You can't fix them. Never.
2. The Rank and File Downline Distributors. By far, the biggest percentage of your team members inevitably will be those who span from a little interested to entirely inspired, but not superstars. This is altogether fine. Collectively, they are the foundation of your business. So you have to be concerned about your schedule. Avail complete support so that they have the opportunity to grow, but be careful not to do everything for them. As they may not be absolutely skilled in network marketing, they might use you to close all their sales, do all their computer work and resolve all their problems. You need to mentor, help and empower them, but stand firm that they cultivate their own skills. Offer group classes and encourage webinar attendance so that they master how to do things themselves. Be completely there for them, but remember that you are not their secretary or customer service person!
3. The Builders. These are those few, real go-getters that take charge of their selling and do whatever it requires to make it work, no matter what. We treasure them. But beware! It is a frequent management error to focus on the less capable, since they are the ones that want the help. Builders are self-sufficient, so they don't want your constant attention, right? Wrong!

A typical example: You have 2 distributors in your downline for 2 months. Distributor A recruited 1 person, and Distributor B signs up 5.

You're working really hard with Distributor A to get him his 2nd one, thinking that he only needs one more to get going. Before recognizing it, you make Distributor B secondary, because she's doing terrific and doesn't need any hand-holding.

But think about it. If you spend your time doubling Distributor A's success, you'll add 1 distributor to your downline. Double Distributor B's success and you'll add 5. And of course, 5 new distributors developing your business is more desirable than 1.

Focus For Success

As your downline organization grows, you will begin to get busy. Focus one-on-one and give steady attention to your Builders, support and cultivate your Rank and File, beware of your time sucking Distributors From Hell and watch your downlines grow strong.
