Essex County, MA- One of the country’s oldest and most lauded universities has announced its investigation into the mysteries and unnerving The Box Leads To Madness logo that began appearing around the world in March 2014. Of special interest is the ever increasing number of videos appearing on the popular website YouTube.com. The videos, each entitled The Box Leads To Madness feature seemingly tormented and disturbed individuals repeating, “The box leads to madness”.

These videos are promoted by a Twitter account, https://twitter.com/box2madness , these seems entirly devoted to the phrase. During a April 16th event at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Odditorium in Times Square New York, several evidently deranged attendees were photographed carrying signs reading The Box Leads To Madness but they did not expand upon the meaning of the phrase. The sign holders simply whispered, “Master hears all, master sees all” when questioned.

The logo consists simply of the phrase The Box Leads To Madness combined with a yet to be identified symbol with what appears to be tentacles.

The university hopes to determine if the phrase is meant as a warning to avoid the box, or as a threat. It will also investigate the increased incidents of graffiti bearing the slogan. Reports of a sudden surge of people having the tentacled symbol tattooed on their bodies are anecdotal at this time but will also be investigated. The Discovering Science channel will be airing a documentary on the investigation in fall of 2014.

Individuals who have insight into the phrase or symbol are urged to contact Professor West at the Parapsychology Department of Miskatonic University.
