MidWest Rum Festival Celebrates 2nd Year Now In Chicago

PRESS RELEASE: Chicago IL, 31-OCTOBER-2015 — The RumLab is pleased to announce the upcoming 2nd Annual MidWest Rum Festival. The Festival is scheduled for April 30, 2016 in Chicago. The Bottom Lounge is the location of the event, which begins  at 12:00 pm with the Spirit Industry Session. The General Admission session is scheduled from 3:00 to 7: 00pm. The Rum Lab is focused on growing the rum category throughout the northern United States.

Last year's event was held in Louisville, Kentucky with more than twenty brands of rum participating. Over six hundred people attended the inaugural event. New programs occurring at the upcoming event are a trade program and some tiki flair.  The team for the event in the producers of the Taste of Rum Puerto Rico official national rum fest, and also the California Rum Festival(http://www.californiarumfest.com/). The events have attracted hundreds of people from the local areas, tourists, rum aficionados and trades people.

The choice of Chicago for a Rum Fest is not accidental. Chicago is one of the top five markets in the spirit industry. The location allows rum brands to showcase products to new distributors and clients. Client brand awareness is enhanced. The new event is expected to attract hundreds of aficionados. Diverse spirits will be shared in a fun and controlled atmosphere. Chicago has seven known rum or tiki bars and more are planned for the future.

The Spirit Industry Session offers the opportunity to network, attend training seminars, taste a variety of rums and mingle with industry colleagues. Key speakers have been invited such as Ian Burrell “The Global Rum Ambassador”. The GA Session provides participants the ability to taste new rums, attend brand seminars, enjoy music and obtain a food coupon redeemable at a venue restaurant.

A bonus session is the Kupulau Hula Event where attendees can enjoy surf music and try tiki drinks in a signature concoction. There will also be art work by a variety of craft artists.
