Mahesh Thakur turns baddie for the first time on TV

After playing the good man on TV and the big screen, popular TV actor, Mahesh Thakur is all set to play a grey-shaded vicious character in STAR Plus’ upcoming show, Ishqbaaaz.

In his career over two decades, the actor was always seen playing the ideal husband, father and son in the various roles he was offered. Ask him if playing a grey-shaded character after all these years was a conscious decision, Mahesh Thakur said, “I accepted the offer to play Tej Singh Oberoi because he is a vicious character with a ruthless mind. He’s the head honcho of the Oberoi Empire. Be it TV or films, I was offered the same kind of roles and to choose a character as different was because one cannot continue to do similar stuff all the time. Luckily TV has a lot of choices for actors now.”

The actor is also excited to be sporting a beard and a moustache for the first time on screen. “I am looking like a real man on Ishqbaaaz, if I may say so. All these years, I have been clean-shaven. And now with this show, I am looking different which is most exciting.”

Ishqbaaaz, produced by Gul Khan under 4 Lions Films is a story of three eligible bachelors; Omkara, Rudra and Shivaay Singh Oberoi.
