MAPLE — Representatives from the Maple branch of Lullaboo Nursery & Childcare Center Inc. were joined by a handful of the company’s directors last month in delivering a sizeable donation to the Sick Kids’ Foundation. Providing support and donations to the Sick Kids’ Foundation is nothing new to Lullaboo as they have been fundraising for the charity every year since they opened their first location back in 2009. From the time Lullaboo first opened, the company has contributed donations that exceed 10,000 dollars in total.

Lullaboo provides a variety of childcare related services, including infant, toddler, preschool day care, in Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Mississauga. The Lullaboo Nursery and Childcare Center maintains a focus on providing top learning opportunities and creating an environment that is conducive to the promotion of emotional, social, physical and cognitive development. Their programs are centered on the enrichment of the children’s love for learning and, to that end, they utilize a variety of effective methods, materials, and experiences to help encourage individual growth and problem solving. Lullaboo maintains a staff of highly qualified childcare professionals including Early Childhood Educators and resource teachers. They also have a support staff on hand whose job is to create a stimulating environment for the children that helps to facilitate an open relationship with the parents.

Lullaboo operates from the philosophy that every child has the right to quality education and care in an environment that is safe, nurturing and healthy. Their teachers make it a personal responsibility to encourage healthy self-esteem in every child and to offer a stimulating and supportive atmosphere conducive to the advancement of competence in each and every developmental area. They base their philosophy on the child development principles stating that interaction and exploration are the most natural way for a child to learn and grow. Their goal is to help the children clarify and expand their understanding of the world around them through their interaction with peers and class materials. Furthermore, they believe that the critical social and intellectual skills that a child must learn grow at a much more effective pace in an environment that nurtures self-esteem. These ideas are supported by the fact that children with confidence and a positive self-image have more certainty in regards to their ability to set a cause in motion and to communicate their own personal needs. As these same principles allow the children to become more responsible, productive and independent, they are more likely to attempt to improve their skills and continue to expand their knowledge of things as they continue into their adult lives.
