Lafarge India wins the prestigious

Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award

New Delhi: Lafarge India, a leading building materials company in India was awarded the coveted

Golden Peacock Occupational Health and Safety Award by Dr. Karan Singh, Member of

Parliament. The award was received by the Lafarge senior management team at the award

ceremony organized in New Delhi. Lafarge India bagged the award for its integrated approach and

making significant achievements in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

The Golden Peacock Awards were pioneered by the Institute of Directors in India in 1991. Today Golden

Peacock Awards Secretariat receives over 1,000 entries per year for various awards, from over 25

countries worldwide. The applications are assessed on an exhaustive set of parameters and are

assessed at 3 three levels by independent assessors and finally by a grand Jury. Justice P.N. Bhagwati,

former Chief Justice of India and Member, UN Human Rights Committee, is the Chairman of the Golden

Peacock Awards Committee. The Global Awards are finalized by a Jury headed by Dr. Ola Ullsten, former

Prime Minister of Sweden.
