Porto, Portugal; 22, November 2016: Instead of traditional curriculum or assessment based education, one can now pursue higher education in creative fields with a disrupting design education concept conceptualized by Tiago and Cláudia Pedras. According to them, they are endeavoring to create a Digital School, where industry leaders will offer master classes to the students. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to create this school with a funding goal of €20,000 goal. The project is open for contributions until December 1, 2016.
According to Tiago, the project is already drawing attention of the people and there are several backers who already have contributed thousands of euros to the success of the project. The Web Design school will offer UX & UI Design, Web Development and other skill based education with real projects, and which can increase the practical knowledge of the learners. Since many industry leaders are associated with the programs offered by the School, students are finding the concept encouraging enough to be part of it.
Tiago maintains that one can pledge any amount if they like the idea. However, there are several kinds of rewards for pledging at least €20 or more. And for a pledge of €2,750, one become a Patron and can sponsor the tuition fee of a student. They have different rewards and tokens of appreciation for backers who will support this innovative project on the Kickstarter. Cláudia is confident that a large number of people will come forward to support their initiative and they will successfully achieve the funding goal well ahead of the project deadline.
According to Cláudia, their Digital Design School is going to be a disruptive way to impart education without any curriculum, assessment or even teachers. It is not going to fill the gap between the academia and industry, but will also a new benchmark to overlap them. The endeavor is to bring students closer to the reality or practical projects without curriculum, assessment and teachers. Students will have an opportunity to learn from the industry leaders who will offer over 400 hours of masterclasses.
