June Events in Geneva Highlighted By Shuttle Direct

28, May 2015: Top airport transfer company Shuttle Direct has highlighted some of the important events taking place in Geneva this summer. A spokesperson from the company says that June is the ideal time to be in the city because the weather is great and there is lots going on. Here are some of the events that the shuttle provider recommends tourists may want to visit.

The Lake Sailing Regatta

The Lake Sailing Regatta is one of the main summer events every year. Taking place (where else) on Lake Geneva, this year it will runs from June 12th to 14th. This is the largest regatta of its kind in Europe and also the most important, with over 500 boats taking part. The event is hosted by the Geneva Nautical Society.

Fete De La Musique

Another of the big events being highlighted by Shuttle Direct as a standout for visitors is the Fete De La Musique. This vibrant music festival will be held in various venues around the city from June 19th to 21st. It is the largest music festival of the year in Geneva, and this year will feature 100 acts in over 30 venues. All types of music are covered, from reggae to jazz to opera and pop. Many of the concerts are free for everyone to enjoy and there will also be plenty of food stalls set up throughout the city.

Écoutes au vert

Visitors to Geneva in June and July will also be able to enjoy ‘Écoutes au vert’, which is a festival of music consisting of performances taking place in outdoor venues all over the city. Some of the venues are extremely picturesque and performances will consist of everything from live bands to DJ sets. The majority of the performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays.
