Join Disney Channel this New Year with the Premiere of the Academy Award winning movie — “ Nemo”
December 25, 2012: This New Year’s begin your celebrations and welcome 2013 with Disney Channel. Taking you in to the wondrous world the sea, the channel premieres the Academy Award winning movie “Finding Nemo” on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 12 noon.
The film uncovers the eventful journeys of two fishes - Marlin and his son Nemo - who are separated in the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is unexpectedly taken from home and thrust into a fish tank. With the companionship of a friendly-but-forgetful fish named Dory, overly cautious Marlin embarks on a dangerous trek to find his son, Nemo.
Written and directed by Oscar® nominee Andrew Stanton, “Finding Nemo” sets a new "high water mark" for the art and technology of computer animation with its incredible underwater world populated with memorable characters. Popular artist such as Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Willem Dafoe, Geoffrey Rush, Allison Janney, Barry Humphries, Alexander Gould are featured in the talented voice-over cast.
The film opened to extremely positive reviews and even went onto win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The second highest-grossing film of the year 2003, Finding Nemo is also the best-selling DVD of all time and the 3rd highest-grossing animated film.
