24, September 2014: Born in Greenwood, SC, Ken Hurley (aka K Hurl) was known as a soft-spoken child but was considered very observant and mature for his age. Periodically during his childhood, K Hurl wrote poetry to express the feelings but by college, he began to translate some of his poetic material into lyrical content.
K Hurl’s first music credits came when he wrote songs like “God is Good” and “Wonder Why” for contemporary gospel group, Brotherly Love, while attending East Tennessee State University (Johnson City, TN). His first EP project called “Compassion” was released in 2008 which featured the laid-back, club-feel of “Whatcha Got” and the romantic song “It’s On”. This project was written, produced and compiled by K Hurl as a formal introduction of himself and his musical talent to the public.
After the “Compassion” EP was completed, K Hurl spent time working on new material and collaborating with various artists and producers. He teamed up with German-producer Andre Silva on the club-banging single “Irresistible”. He later collaborated with Romanian pop sensation, Nicola, on the remixed duet version of his single “Back and Forth” produced by talented, Russian producer, Sandu Gorgos. He was also featured on the hot, rap single “Take A Ride”, written and produced by Philonius Monk. Hurl went on to collaborate with other artists and producers such as rap sensation Mujikwa and super producer from Germany Ill Slim Collin.
After a brief hiatus from music, K Hurl connected with the Carolina-based production team, Maxx Arsenals and super talented producer, Kaktus. It was through this connection that Hurl landed a major distribution deal through JDS Certified Inc./ Ingrooves/ exclusively distributed by Universal Music Group Distribution. Since the signing of the deal, the excitement has been brewing around the release of his new single “More Than I Love Myself” and K Hurl has been working diligently perfecting this new project to present to the world!
