Ishani Sharma bags the lead role because of 1200 rupees!
The makers of STAR Plus’ new show, HumkoTumse Ho Gaya Hai Pyaar Kya Karein, had a very different experience when they were taking auditions in Chandigarh in search for the female lead.
When Ishani Sharma auditioned for the lead role ofAnokhiTilakMehra, she told the casting team that she came all the way from Himachal with onlyRs. 1200 in her pocket, which made took them by surprise. A source close to the team reveals, “The team was surprised with her blunt statement of coming all the way to Chandigarh for audition with such a petty amount.”
“I went for the audition in Chandigarh and never thought the money in my pocket will be the decision maker for me. My audition went well but when I told them about how much money I have and how strenuous my journey was to Chandigarh, they got very excited and thought that I’d be the perfect fit for Anokhi” quips the debutant.
Anokhi is a smart, bubbly and jugaadu girl of today’s generation, characteristics Ishani connects well with. She adds, “I’m quite similar to Anokhi and I think the team felt the same way and chose me to play the role. I’m very excited for this opportunity and I hope my character resonates with the youth.”
