The day begins with the gang playing a board game in the attic to pass their time.Great uncle Stan calls them to watch a television commercial of their enemy Lil' Gideon's ‘Tent of Telepathy’. As they then proceed to recall past experiences and their mutual dislike of Gideon, the famous self-proclaimed child psychic, they hear someone breaking into Mystery Shack and find Gideon attempting to unlock Stan’s safe. Gideon however flees and soon plots to release a secret weapon to get into Stan's mind.Gideon then performs a ritual to summon the dream demon Bill Cipher, who engages in various antics before making a deal with Gideon: Bill Cipher promises to invade Stan's mind, with the condition that Gideon help him with an unknown favor later.
Mabel and Soos, who witnessed the entire occurrence while hiding behind a bush, rush back to the Shack to tell Dipperwhat they saw.After learning that they can prevent Bill's chaos by traveling into Stan's head themselves, they prepare and recite the necessary incantation.Once inside Stan’s brain they explore and soon meet the demon Bill, who is expecting them. What follows is a roller-coaster ride with a few revelations and plenty of surprises in store for the gang! Will the four get successful in getting rid of Gideon? And more importantly will they be able to defeat the tricky dream demon Bill?
