Born as Nayan Bhadbhade in 1958, she started her acting career right after finishing high school. Her mother was also a well known actor on Marathi stage. Reema’s acting career started with acting jobs on the Marathi stage that slowly transcended into Hindi and Marathi television serials and eventually films. Reema has acted with many applauded actors in Marathi as well as Hindi film industry. She quickly rose to fame after her role in Qayamat se Qayamat Tak where she played Juhi Chawla’s mother. Post this, she has acted in many notable Hindi films like Maine Pyar Kiya, where she played Salman Khan’s mother and was nominated for a Film fare award for her role as best supporting actor, Reema has also starred in Other super hit movies like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Saath Saath hai and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Her role in Vaastav was also very challenging in which she played a don’s mother who kills her own son.
Being an all-rounder actor Reema has contributed greatly to Marathi theatre too. Her Marathi plays like Asu ani hasu, Godi Gulabi and many more have received critical appreciation. Some of her Marathi films like 'Sinhasan', 'Aapli Manse' were also very famous. She is playing a lead role in the Marathi serial "TUJA MAJA JAMENA". Reema has also been associated with the hit Hindi television series Tu Tu Main Main which later became Kadvee Khatti Meethi.
In her long and prolific career as an actor, Reema has been nominated for many accolades and awards like the Filmfare for her outstanding work. The Filmfare nominations were for her role in movies like Vaastav, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Maine Pyaar Kiya and Aashiqui.
