The 2013 “Impact a Life” college scholarship winner was announced on January 15, 2013 by raffleticket.com president, Bruce Hassel.

Cincinnati, Ohio — Heather Hagopian of Chicago, Illinois submitted the winning essay. Heather is a student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and her essay, “Raffle Fundraising Tips from a Holiday Hero” was published on the popular fundraising blog “ Raffle Fundraising Tips Ideas Strategies”

“Not only did Heather write an informative and insightful essay, but we’re also impressed that Heather and her sister Haley are founders of an awesome children’s charity, “The Holiday Heroes Foundation,” said Hassel.

“I was really inspired by Heather’s humanitarian efforts at setting up a fund to provide children suffering from all types of serious illnesses with an opportunity to experience joy that many of us take for granted,” continued Hassel.

“The “Impact a Life” $1,000 cash scholarship was established to challenge the future leaders of America to provide creative solutions and ideas to serve their community, church, and service organizations through charitable acts of volunteerism.  I think Heather certainly exemplifies those qualities,” said Hassel.
