The first Assembly elections in Maharashtra were held in 1960 in which Indian National Congress (INC) came out victorious. The Assembly elections 2014 in the state will be held on October 15 as the term of the 12th Assembly ends on 7 December 2014. The state is divided into 288 constituencies out of which 29 are reserved for the scheduled castes and 25 for the Scheduled Tribes. The total of 78,966,642 voters will decide the fate of candidates. The state of Maharashtra has been engulfed with issues like inflation, corruption and communalism over the years and once again the common man will have the right to stand against these problems by voting for a stable government.
