Known to be one of the greatest stage performers of his time, with quick-thinking and a dynamic personality, Moghe bears his heart this week on a special episode. Shrikant Moghe grew up learning the art of singing from his grandfather who was a kirtankar. Through the knowledge he received in this art form, he tried his level best to keep traditional Marathi music alive all his life. He is known to have an illustrious career in theatre as well as cinema. The 80-year-old actor is recognized for memorable roles in plays like Lekure Udand Jahli, Varyavarachi Varat, Sher Shivaji and Ashwamedh and films like Prapanch, Madhuchandra, Shevatacha Malusara, Simhasan and Umbaratha. He is now the Adhyaksha (President) of the scheduled 92nd Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan.
The renowned gentleman was considered to be amongst the ´insiders‘ of P.L. Deshpande, the famous litterateur, popularly known as the king of Marathi hearts. Having worked with the veteran for over five decades, Moghe once said, “I was lucky to have his company for 50 years of my life.” He shares these special memories of working with the great literary personality, other close people and plays that influenced his acting all his life.
