IBN-Lokmat‘s presents ´Garza Maharashtra‘ with Tukadoji Maharaj and Gurukunj Aasharam
Pioneers of rural reconstruction works and integrated rural development in India

6th January 2011: Garja Maharashtra rejoices 50 years of the birth of Maharashtra and takes the initiative of showcasing organizations and individuals who have contributed towards the growth of the state. This episode will showcase the work of Tukadoji Maharaj and Gurukunj Aasharam, a pioneer of rural reconstruction works and integrated rural development in India. Gurukunj Ashram has constructive programmes that are implemented with active participation of Tukadoji‘s followers. Some of the important aspects of this ashram are village health and sanitation, child care and women's uplift, village arts and crafts, physical culture. Ayurveda, wrestling matches, physical parades, yoga and other programmes of integrated rural development are closely looked after. Tukdoji concentrated his full attention to rural reconstruction works and organized many kinds of camps for constructive workers, which also received great national interest.
