(Free Press Release) In the heart of Madrid, a new hotel has opened proudly declaring that it is constructed with complete rubbish.
This Beach Garbage Hotel is more of a wooden shack with walls made of wreckage dragged up by the tide, recovered from landfills or snapped up at flea markets.
The walls were decorated with wooden frames, striped socks, plastic drums, musical instruments, children's books and tyres. There is sand lying in front of the hotel and palm trees. There are five rooms in the hotel.
The hotel is the work of German artist Ha Schult located in the city centre's Plaza de Callao.
"I created the Beach Garbage Hotel because the oceans of our planet are the biggest garbage dump," he said.
There are wobbly sideboards, street lights, and torn Persian rugs, ready to welcome the lucky winners of a Facebook competition whose prize is a free stay.
Rosa Piqueras, spokeswoman for the environmental project, says the idea was to show something a little different from the ideal destinations touted by the tourism industry.
"We wanted to show what our holidays could become if we don't clean our beaches," she said.
The objects to construct and decorate the Hotel en Madrid were picked up from beaches in France, Germany, Britain, Italy and Spain.
That‘s for the tourist attraction of Madrid nowadays but if are looking for other accommodation in Madrid you can search for “Hoteles en Madrid” on search engines (online) and find Hoteles Madrid of your choice.
