A double graduate from Bombay University and a Ph.D from Indiana University, USA, Dr. Narendra Jadhav went on to serve the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for thirty-one years and retired in 2008 as the Principal Adviser and Chief Economist. This remarkable stint was followed by four years at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). His position as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Pune is quite well-known in the education sector. Such an educated an well-read man is also a prolific writer. with 100 research papers, 14 books on economic and social issues including four in Marathi to his credit. Dr. Jadhav’s family biography titled “Untouchables” has been published in 15 languages including English, French, Spanish, Korean and Thai, and has sold around 4 lakh copies.

Dr. Jadhav's Marathi novel 'Amcha Baap Aani Amhi' was nominated for Sahitya Academy Award and a 52-part Hindi TV serial is currently underway on the same. This remarkable man has several scholastic honours and professional distinctions to his credit. This week, he shared his lives struggle, achievements and philosophy.
