Ocean, New Jersey September 29, 2010 -- For quite some time now do all SmartTOP modules made by Mods4Cars come with a standard USB port, which allows for quick and easy firmware upgrades via PC. Updates are available online, allowing all owners of these modules to profit from additional feature upgrades.

Perfect examples are the “all windows” switch on Audi A3 and A4, which can now be programmed to “one-touch” raise all windows as well as the “comfort trunk access” feature on BMW‘s 3 series and Z4, which formerly required a special factory option to be present and can now be activated simply with a sequence of key presses on the remote.

The Ford Focus CC gains more streamlined in-car module set-up functionality and added features such as a programmable speed limit for top operation. Mazda‘s MX-5 roadster has proven to have very robust convertible top mechanics and now permits rooftop operation up to 60km/h (38mph) as well as a brand new “auto-down” feature Open the convertible top as soon as the mechanical latch is disengaged.

One of the most popular modules, the SmartTOP for Mercedes Benz SLK, CLK and SL now displays the firmware version in the cluster display and sports an improved “all windows” remote feature.

Opel (Vauxhall) Astra owners will be pleased to know that the car‘s own “dead lock” function can now be activated with just one single click on the remote A plus for security when parking the car especially with the top down.

Peugeot‘s little 207cc convertible gains an extra feature: Raising all windows, separately from the top, by remote. This allows parking the car with top down and windows up, as required by insurance companies, at the touch of a button.

Lastly the SmartTOP veteran that is the VW EOS still continues to receive frequent updates. This time a great improvement to sunroof operation by remote and by popular request a new way to open/close the top: triple-click on the remote in addition to the regular hold-down for 5 seconds method.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born. For further information please see http://www.mods4cars.com
