PUNTA GORDA, Fla - Restaurants and Retailers Map Summer Treasure Sales; Vendors Ready for Sixth Annual Pirate Fest July 25, 26, and 27. From sandals to shades and just about everything in between — it’s all featured at unique summer sales and special events happening at Fishermen’s Village, Southwest Florida’s only boutique mall on the waterfront.

Fishermen’s Village is the spot overlooking historic Charlotte Harbor where scores of retailers and restaurants are gearing up for this summer’s all-out celebration, the 6th Annual Pirate Fest. In addition to the famous waterfront party, more than thirty shops, restaurants and luxury services unique to Fishermen’s Village have mapped out a full season of treasure hunting for locals and visitors alike.

Fishermen’s Village shopping is renowned for quality specialty items and famous local brands — those “can’t-get-it-anywhere-else” finds, making the breezeway of shops a must-go for visitors and every local’s favorite shopping mall(http://www.fishville.com).

“The retailers have set a very high bar for themselves this season,” said marketing director Kathy Burnam. “The entire village of shops has caught the festival energy and you can see the treasure-island spirit in their windows, floor displays and new products,” she said.

Whether it’s imported olive oils and spices for the gourmet kitchen or signature Florida décor and fine quality gifts for home, body, and cherished pets, Fishermen’s Village shopping brings it all to center court. Charming signboards over each doorway sway in harbor breezes, marking an itinerary for treasure hunting along the covered avenue of shops. Jewelry, fine clothing, souvenirs and personal luxury services mark the map of a true shopping treasure hunt.

And, there’s more. Summer treasure shopping will sail around the bend with the invasion of the region’s 6th annual Pirate Fest the last weekend of July. Scores of Fishermen’s Village vendors have imported special wares for the fun-filled, three-day invasion of one-eyed sailors in tricorn hats shouting “Argh!”

The events for Pirate Fest 2014 promise to top all that have gone before, giving visitors and locals alike good reason to mark their calendars and save the dates: July 25, 26 and 27.

Fishermen’s Village and Marina — deep-water maritime access on historic Charlotte Harbor — will fly the Skull and Crossbones and reverberate with cannon blasts. Blackbeard’s Ship will anchor where festival goers can mingle among crews of pirates. Festival goers will encounter schools of mermaids and flotillas of special events. A grand fancy dress ball for the grownups and a children’s costume contest have become the festival’s traditional highlights.

In between the dancing and the parades, live music from name entertainers, sweet and savory delights, and maybe even a parrot or two on an old salt’s shoulder are all slated to enliven nearly every hour of daylight that weekend and sail the fun on into the evening.

Pirate Fest gets underway Friday afternoon and continues throughout the weekend. Mark your calendars: July 25, 26, and 27. For a full schedule of events, visit www.fishermensvillagepiratefest.com on the Web.
