Esteemed Fine arts and pre production faculty Mrs. Sonali Jain imparts rangoli making art to

students.

14 October 2014, Indore: Today the pioneer institute in Design media & management , Virtual Voyage organized

a Rangoli Workshop with Mrs Sonali Jain — esteemed in house —Fine Arts , Design and Pre Production faculty of

Indore Education circuit. She is a master in fine arts and has many art lovers, who follow her work. Sanoli Jain’s

paintings have made a mark in various national and international circuits like Dubai & New York.

The workshop started with a great gusto and excitement among students due to the Diwali Buzz. It aims at

providing students a 360 learning and designing experience of making a rangoli from scratch looking at various

aspects of making a Rangoli, right from design selection, outlining, color patterns, Breakthrough ideas, coloring

etc. Sand Art that has recently gained popularity in the world is nothing but our cultural Rangoli art — which

Indian culture has been following since ages.

The Sessions were conducted on 3 broad topics like:

Sanskaar Bharti — Rangoli designs that reflect Indian tradition and true representation of the festivities of the

Diwali and Rangoli making essence.The art of rangoli in elaborate and big format is done by the sanskaar bharti

Portrait/ Landscape: This type of rangoli was also taught to students where they had to make a photograph or

scenery via the rangoli format. This rangoli pattern usually has the real effect i.e actual.

Overwater/ underwater: The most amazing triva about this pattern of rangoli making is that -- the biggest Indian

mythology occurrence “the MAHARBHARAT “happened due to this kind of Rangoli. Apparently Duryodhan

stepped on an Underwater Rangoli and was laughed at by Draupadi saying “Andhe ka putra bhi Andha”. This

historic art was also taught to the students at Virtual voyage.

The students at the end competed in a Rangoli making competition and made use of the workshop to the hilt.
