Eliminations Begin On 92.7 Big Fm’s ‘Closeup Antakshari’
Lucknow : The game of antakshari lies in the heart of most Indian celebrations and gatherings. Given the encouraging response received in Uttar Pradesh in 2013, Closeup along with content partner 92.7 BIG FM brought back Closeup Antakshari for its second season on radio early last month. After rigorous rounds of auditions and short listing from the thousands of entries received, 12 of the best teams from 12 cities of UP, Bihar and Jharkhand took over the battlefield. Catch the magic of Closeup Antakshari on 92.7 BIG FM as the eliminations continue this week - every Friday and Saturday at 12noon!
Starting 14th March, renowned actor Manoj Tiwari returned as the host for the 2nd Season of Closeup Antakshari. The current season plays across UP, Bihar and Jharkhand with one team each that have been shortlisted from Jhansi, Patna, Lucknow, Kanpur, Aligarh, Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ranchi and Jamshedpur. Over the episodes on Friday and Saturday every week till 19th April, the antakshari teams will be put to test on various parameters — they will play the akshar round, shabd round, clue round and dhun round to test their knowledge and spontaneity. Every Saturday 2 of the lowest scoring teams (from 2 different cities) will be eliminated from the competition till the final 3 teams come to the fore on the 19th of April. The grand finale for the contest will be held in Lucknow on the 26th of April, where 3 teams will compete for the winning title and a grand prize.
The show has been a huge success on television and it was a bold move by Closeup to recreate the magic of the property on radio with content partner 92.7 BIG FM. The debut season of ‘Closeup Antakshari’ in UP was a grand success and recently won an RMAI Flame 2013 award for ‘Best Radio Campaign of the Year’. Closeup Antakshari finalists will also get an opportunity to tour their respective cities, sing for audiences, and share their experience about being one of the finalists in the second season of Closeup Antakshari.
