Keeping a city clean is something all citizens desire, but who are the people who really keep our cities clean? Meet the unsung heroes who help keep our city clean and beautiful. Once shooed away and treated like the trash they help collect, they have come a long way today. Kach Patra Kashtakari Panchayat picks up what we have discarded as lacking value and gives it value through their             labour. They provide garbage collection, composting and related waste management services. A trade union that consists of self employed workers comprising of waste pickers, itinerant waste buyers, waste collectors and other informal recyclers. With over 10,000 members they work towards empowering each of their member with education and multiple other opportunities to grow.

 

In today’s day and age where a lot of citizens complain about lack of cleanliness in our city and garbage issues, little may heed and give credit to the union that works towards making our cities cleaner and more habitable.
