Born in Belgaum, Karnataka, Atul Kulkarni is a versatile actor who has acted in more than 60 films in which quite a few included quite a multiple languages films as well. He gained a lot of respect & appreciation from his fans for few of his popular movies like Rang De Basanti, Happy Journey, Premachi Goshta, Page3, Popat, Gauri the unborn, Natarang etc. He has been recognised with many accolades in the theatre & film industry. Amongst these he won 2 national awards as well.  At first he was honoured by former president A P J Abdul Kalam with national award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in the year 1999 for the film Hey Ram. The second National award he received was by K.R Narayanan, the then honourable president of India for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the film Chandni Bar.
