(Free Pressrelease) Cairo, Egypt August 4, 2010 Egypt Yellow Pages Ltd, the Local Search Company, has enhanced its iPhone application to include proximity search via GPS.

The new Egypt Yellow Pages iPhone application now locates the user's position by utilizing the GPS in the user's mobile phone to produce a true local proximity search. When users type in their search criteria, the results are generated based on the location of the user at that time. For example, if the user is searching for "pizza" in Maadi, the results will now indicate that Pizza Hut is closer to the user‘s current position than Papa John‘s.

"Instead of simply listing all the establishments that match the user's criteria, the user will now be able to see that one pizzeria is only one street away from their current position and that another pizzeria is four streets away," says Marc Lambert, Regional Managing Director for Egypt Yellow Pages Ltd.

The new application also features a what/where approach, which automatically completes the user's criteria as they type it into the search field. Thus, the application will automatically complete the word "restaurant," when the user types in "resta." As well, navigating the search results has become much easier. Users see more results on the same page with just one click of the button.
