Originally constructed by the Grosvenor family during nineteenth century when they set about developing what is now considered the central part of London's Belgravia district, Eaton Square is an incredibly discreet location.
The square itself, which is named after the Grosvenor family's country home in Cheshire, is made up of six private gardens, as well as a tennis court, surrounded by period residential properties. Offering both apartments and houses that boast elegant architecture, the location of Eaton Square - between Knightsbridge and Chelsea - makes it a prime location for some of the wealthiest people in the United Kingdom.
In the past many of these wonderful properties have been graced by some very famous faces - which shouldn't really come as any surprise as the area is one of the capital's most illustrious.
Here is just a selection of famous former residents:
Sean Connery: The Scottish actor best known for his iconic role as MI6 agent James Bond, Sean Connery owned an apartment (rumoured to be number seven, as opposed to 007) at Eaton Square. However, he made a decision to sell his apartment back in 2005 and now enjoys his retirement at his home in the Bahamas.
Roger Moore: Like the man he succeeded in the role of Bond, Roger Moore also owned an apartment. It isn't known whether Moore, who made his name as an actor in the much-loved 1960s TV show, The Saint, still owns his property though.
Jos? Mourinho: The self-appointed special one, Jos? Mourinho previously occupied a flat in Eaton Square, with his family, when in-charge of Chelsea Football Club - whose owner Roman Abramovich gave him when he was appointed manager in 2004.
Roman Abramovich: Russian businessman Abramovich is one of the world's wealthiest men. Now more well-known for being the backer behind Chelsea Football Club's path to prominence, Abramovich owned an Eaton Square home - which makes sense considering the location's close proximity to Chelsea.
The house is reportedly no longer owned by Abramovich, who handed it over to his ex-wife, Irina when the two divorced back in 2007.
Neville Chamberlain: Former prime minister of the United Kingdom, Chamberlain was in charge of the country for the first months of World War II. Held in high esteem by his peers after his resignation in May of 1940, Chamberlain had an Eaton Square home (number 37).
Visitors can get a look at his former home, which can be identified by the blue plaque featuring his name on it.
Sir Robert Helpmann: Born in the South of Australia, Sir Robert Helpmann is probably best known for frightening generations of young children in his role as the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Also an incredibly talented dancer and choreographer, he is also remembered for leaving his mark on The Australian Ballet. He occupied a flat, 72 Eaton Square.
Many other great names have graced Eaton Square with their presence, including former prime minister Stanley Baldwin and Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark.
