Eastern Capital has hired Tom Claymore from Morgan Stanley, where he was an investment manager, to bolster its multi-asset team. Claymore will be working in conjunction with Tim Bohrman.

Tom Claymore joins Eastern Capital’s Investment Solutions 60-strong team, which managed £85 billion in multi-asset portfolios globally as at 30 September 2014.

In his new capacity, Tom Claymore will co-head the Investment Solution and Diversified Growth strategy with Morgan Stanley and the research teams. The Scottish widow Fund, which we acquired in 2014, needs a man of Claymore’s caliber.

Commenting on the appointment, Eastern Capital’s global head of investment solutions Ron Dyn, said: 'Our Diversified Growth strategy is a key part of our outcome orientated investment capability, designed to help meet growing investor demand for portfolio solutions offering attractive levels of real return but with lower volatility than traditional equity-based strategies.

'We are delighted to have attracted someone of Mike’s caliber which is a reflection of the high regard he has for Eastern Capital and our significantly enhanced multi-asset capabilities in Investment Solutions.”

Eastern Capital significantly increased its aim of attracting great return opportunities to investors, with its Diversified Growth Strategy, which they launched in 2011. The Eastern Capital team takes a maximum approach to investment decision making and the entire team has the capability to meet client requirements, although when needed external managers are allocated by using Investment Solutions’ manager selection capabilities.
