Classic Cottages customers renting one of the company’s properties in late November might be interested in attending the charity musical extravaganza that a local group of volunteers is organising.
Inspired by popular televised dance shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars, this ‘just for fun’ event already has star appeal, as former Hollyoaks actress Tamaryn Payne has signed up to be one of the judges. Payne is herself a trained dancer and has declared herself very excited to be helping the Weldmar Hospice, the charity towards which the show’s profits will go. After this event the former soap opera star will stay in the area to join the cast of the Jack and the Beanstalk Christmas pantomime that will take place in the same venue as the dance show. If you are staying in one of the Classic Cottages properties you may be able to make it to both.
So far nine couples have volunteered to enter the competition, which will take place on November 23 at 7pm, on the grounds of the Freshwater Beach Holiday Park in Burton Bradstock. While pairings have not yet been announced, rehearsals have been going on and the dancers are really getting to know one another. A representative from Weldmar Hospice has revealed that everyone is very excited about putting on this performance, not least the members of the hospice themselves.
On the night itself each couple will present one routine set to a specific song of their choosing, just as on the TV programmes that this Strictly Ballroom variety show is based upon. Members of the audience can then buy votes for £1 each in order to vote for their favourite couple. The number of votes that each visitor can purchase is unlimited.
Tickets for this event are now on sale at £8 each from the Weldmar Hospice website. In addition to the ticket-booth revenue, each of the dancers is attempting to gather their own sponsorship in order to raise as much money as possible for the charity. Classic Cottages patrons are bound to have a great evening of entertainment if they plan this spectacle into their visit.
