The clumsy and childish yet extremely lovable and charming Goofy has held a very special place in the hearts of kids and families for generations. So join him as he hops, skips and jumps to the next fun filled adventure in his usual ‘goofy’ style this weekend.

Things you didn’t know about Goofy

  • Goofy made his debut in “Mickey’s Revue,” a short movie that features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Horace Horse collar and Clarabelle Cow. Since then, Goofy made several regular appearances in most Mickey Mouse animations and has enjoyed starring roles in Disney’s many cartoon shorts, films and television shows. Some of his favorite onscreen roles have been starring in the “How To” cartoons, where he bumbled through his explanations, “Goof Troop” with his son Max and more recently in the popular series, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” He also appeared in numerous movies like “Mickey's Christmas Carol”, “The Prince and the Pauper”, and “Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers” which have brought laughter and cheer to generations of Disney fans

  • Goofy’s original name is “Dippy Dawg" and his early personality has been that of a “goofball”. His raucous laugh, as much as his “goofiness”, became his trademark and other cartoon characters began to refer to him as “Dippy the Goof”. This eventually became his stamp and evolved into his current name — “Goofy”. He was first spotlighted by his new name in his first solo cartoon "Goofy and Wilbur”, the short featured Goofy fishing with the help of Wilbur, his pet grasshopper

  • Goofy's voice was first performed by Disney story man, musician, and former circus clown Pinto Colvig. Later the character was voiced by George Johnson, Bob Jackman, and Bill Farmer. Some of Goofy’s catchphrases are "gawrsh!" (which is his usual exclamation of surprise and his way of pronouncing "gosh") and "ah-hyuck!" (a distinctive chuckle), sometimes followed by a "hoohoohoohoo!”. Goofy has comfortably notched a place amongst Disney Fab-5, the other four being Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto

So get ready to prepare the most lovable birthday cake ever, put on the candles, complete the decorations and celebrate Goofy’s birthday only on Disney Junior!
