New Delhi: Committed to bringing differentiated programming, Discovery Kids is delighted to present a fun filled three-dimensional (3D) animated adventure series — MAYA THE BEE. With a continuous presence on television since 1976, MAYA THE BEE has achieved cult status for over 30 years. Based on the book, Die BieneMaja by WaldermarBonsels, the character,Maya, defiesordinary ways of living and abides by her adventurous ways when it comes to dealing with challenging situations.

 

MAYA THE BEE will air every day at 9 AM and 12 noon on Discovery Kids.

 

Maya is a young bee filled with curiosity who loves discovering the world through learning and understandinglife.  As Maya explores the meadow where she lives, she meets other insects, plays to her heart’s content and shares her joy with friends. If a leaf floats onto the pond, Maya sees a sailing adventure waiting to happen. If there’s a flower that blooms once a year on a lonely hill top, Maya embarks on an expedition to see it. Her adventures sometimes lead her into trouble, but fortunately she has Skip, an avuncular grasshopper and Willy her best friend to help her out.

Some Adventures of Maya the Bee:

 

The Queen’s Messenger: Maya participates in a race with her fellow bees to deliver a message map in a native hive. The one who delivers the message first will be named as honorary junior messenger and will get messenger’s folded flower petal hat. Laura, one of the competing bees, cheats the others by wrecking a shortcut path. But on her way forward, she getsstuck in a sun dew plant.Besidesleaving Laura in her condition, Maya and her friends helps Laura get out of the trouble. FinallyShelby, a bug and the participant of the race delivers the message map to the native hive and isnamed as honorary junior messenger. Shelby shares the creditwith Maya and her friends for theirhelpand hard work.

 

Beware of Bears: A bear alarm is raised when Maya and her friend Willy assume a toy bear as a real one and relay this information to her queen.Later, all the bees along with the queen evacuates the hive to protect themselves from a bear attack. Maya and Willy soon realises that the danger was in fact a toy bear and the loud sound they heard was the snoring of a bug initially assumed as to be the sound of a real bear. Despite the fear of being punished, Maya confesses the truth to the queen bee who forgives her in the end.
