Serving a noble cause at a young age does not always come easy, it taken immense moral strength for one to decide to dedicate the rest of their lives in the service of the society. It was on 1998, when the founders of the Borderless World Foundation started work at the grassroots level in the conflict-ridden frontier district of Kupwara in Kashmir. The violence in the scenic valley and their first hand experience of human tragedy made them decide to change their path. The ray of hope for young children in Kashmir has been Adhik Kadam who runs a non-governmental organization Borderless World Foundation based in Pune. In a special report by Chandrakant Patil, Reportaaz salutes the societal cause by this man on Sunday, 23rd December 2012 at 10:00 am and 8:30 pm only on IBN-Lokmat.

Both security forces and militants have picked him up on suspicion. He has also braved 'fatwas' from clerics. Yet the Hindu continues his spiritual journey undeterred in the Kashmir Valley. Adhik Kadam, 34, belongs to Maharashtra but has chosen to serve Jammu and Kashmir's children of conflict, particularly the young girls who lost their fathers to violence in the valley. Loss of lives, violence, fear and chaos are the order of the day in the valley. Socio-economic stagnancy, corruption and civil administrative breakdown affect all walks of life. Scores of thousands of children have been orphaned due to violence; close to a million of them have dropped out of their childhood.

The Borderless World Foundations focuses on health care, education, rehabilitation of orphans & widows, women empowerment, migrants & refugees, and empowerment through employment. Reportaaz brings to you a heart-wrenching story of Adhik Kadam who has truly served a noble cause with his efforts. Chandrakant Patil reports on this great man’s social work.
