With the number of diabetes sufferers reaching unprecedented levels, it is reported that the pandemic is threatening to bankrupt the National Health Service with obesity-linked illness costing £10billion annually.  However, Shardlow-based Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, Mark Lole, is determined to educate individuals from the Derby, Kegworth, Castle Donington and surrounding areas that Type 2 Diabetes is wholly avoidable and its progression can even be reversed through diet and exercise.

More than one million adults have been diagnosed with diabetes over the last ten years, bringing the UK’s total to 3,333,069.  With cases across England and Wales rising by 59.8 per cent since 2005, this additional 1.2 million adults living with the condition poses concern to authorities and the general public alike.

However, Mark Lole, a nutritionist and personal trainer who, since serving as a Royal Marine, has accrued an impressive array of qualifications and certifications and he now specialises in providing people with the information, guidance and motivation they need to lose weight and stay fit and healthy through exercise and diet.

Mark commented: “Diabetes seems to be spiralling out of control and Type 2 Diabetes is a condition that can be wholly avoided.  Although it cannot be cured once acquired, its progression can even be halted and reversed through the adoption of a lifestyle that includes healthy eating and exercise”.

Mark continues: “The country’s diet includes far too much sugar, something that is addictive and increases obesity, which in turns affects insulin levels, encouraging diabetes.  The average thirty-something person who is overweight, and even who already has Type 2 Diabetes can control the condition and drastically reduce their risk through managed weight loss achieved by including exercise and healthier eating within their lifestyle”.

Mark provides personal training at Reeds Health Club, Kegworth and at Choices Health Club, Raynesway, Derby.  Together with some 12 other qualifications, Mark is a Level 4 Master  Instructor in Obesity, Diabetes, Nutrition and Weight Management and is able to tailor a healthy eating and diet plan for all individuals of all ages.
