DEN Networks false promise leaves consumers fuming

 Vaibhav Singh and family from Agra are extremely unhappy with their local cable operator as they have been faced with a continuous problem of their favorite channels being switched off for the last 7 days. They are complaining about missing their daily dose of entertainment & drama because their local cable operator DEN Network  is stuck in a tussle with the channel distribution company The One Alliance about replacing the switched off channels from SONY , SAB TV, Sony MAX, Discovery , Animal Planet. 

The blackout was conducted without informing any of the DEN network subscribers leaving them in the complete dark as to the cancellation of the channels. Technicalities state that such sorts of cancellation of channels should be informed at least with a time frame of 21 days in advance. With no sort of information insight, consumers are enraged on the total absence of content from some of the most popular TV channels on air. Inspite of paying regular subscription fee and investing in a set top box, the consumer is deprived of the option of watching their favorite channels. At this in consumer evolution, such a debacle and breach of trust has left consumers pondering if they truly are the center of attention for marketers or are they just pawns capable of being manipulated. At the end it is the consumer who is facing the brunt behind the wall or conflict between the channels and the network.   

Sunita Sharma complained, “We are use to a certain pattern of television viewing and have been disappointed on missing our shows like Je Le Zara, Maharana Pratap& Tarak Mehta ka Oolta chasma. We have been calling DEN Network and every time we have to search for our channel to see our shows.” On being questioned further she stated “it’s difficult to call the customer care every day only to be told that issue will get resolved anytime soon. However, the situation has remained the same for the last seven days.”  

“Our families look forward to quality television viewing after  long day’s work  and  we don’t like facing such disturbances in our schedule. We have been a regular subscriber with DEN Network and have always paid our fees regularly. We feel very disheartened that the network has let us down so badly. On top of that calls to the cable operator have not resulted in the channels being telecasted as it was previously.” added another consumer Mohini Srivastav  

However, the viewers are hoping that the issue between DEN Network and the distribution company be sorted out soon as in the end they are the only ones who are suffering the most. These frequent disruptions are leaving many consumers with no option but to switch to a stable DTH supplier.
