Pune, 27th March 2010: As the world comes together at the ´Earth hour‘ to stand up for the cause of climate change, Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi also plugs into the darkness for the green cause. Being committed for over twenty years to the cause of environment consciousness and preservation, Marriott International takes the green movement to the next leap by recognizing April as “Environmental Awareness Month”.

Pitching in the dark hour, Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi urged their guests along with the associates to join hands for the global cause. Reflecting the mood of the Earth Hour, the hotel wore a dim, candle lit demeanor with a black out as guests too volunteered to be a part of the Earth Hour. The hotel proudly promoted the global initiative by spreading awareness about Earth Hour in all the guest touch-points like the lobby, business centre, restaurants, guest rooms and executive lounge. The hotel‘s two restaurants; MoMo Café and MoMo Alfresco hosted a special candle light theme dinner for the enthusiastic diners.

Being a proud participant of the global initiative Mr. Deepak Manocha, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi said, “At Marriott, we take our role in protecting our environment very seriously. We proudly work together to implement sustainable environmental practices, including conservation of natural resources, and reducing and recycling waste wherever possible. Our participation in the Earth Hour 2010 is the opening step towards the marathon of activities for our Environmental awareness month of April.”

Courtyard by Marriott, Pune Hinjewadi has a line up of various activities for the upcoming green month. The property will urge its employees and guests to be a part of this noble initiative through clean-up campaigns, sapling plantation, eco-theme based contests, etc that in turn will spread the word on the burning topic of environmental consciousness.
