Kansas City - People looking to bring change in Kansas City are invited to attend CityCampKC 2014 at The Kauffman Foundation — The center for entrepreneurship on Saturday, May 31st.

CityCampKC in partnership with Connecting for Good are hosting this year’s National Day of Civic Hacking - a content-a-thon that will help increase the digital literacy among underprivileged people or senior citizens.

The theme for this year’s CityCampKC is STARTUPS & THE CITY. This spans across various sectors that include start up communities, DIY City, Code for America brigade, big data, tech workforce, the wired city, civic tech, social media and advocacy, and adaptive reuse.

The un-conference, which is a conference with no speaker list or set schedule, allows participants the opportunity to share their perspectives and ideas that will help improve community bonding and networking with others. Those who are interested to speak can sign up in the morning when they arrive.

The event will have discussions; panels and rapid fire ignite talks along with big data fun via BigData KC (the global conference held November 2013) and new technology and electronic gizmos created by the makers of Hammerspace

Anybody throughout the metro area looking to bring change in the community can participate in the event that is expected to be attended by over 300 techies and entrepreneurs, local government official staff, community organizers, civic makers, hackers and doers, students and professors, urban planners, designers, architects, developers or any resident who would like to enhance Kansas City.

Connect with people who are passionate about Kansas City for as little as $30. Tickets include a delicious breakfast, tasty lunch, cocktails, and a commemorative t-shirt along with a day filled with fun and lifelong memories to cherish. Tickets can be purchased at citycampkc.org
