Washington DC : Michelle Tucker, a Washington, DC based Author, has launched a Kickstarter to fund her latest book project,Hank Was Worried.

Tucker describes the book as “avisually stunningnew Children's Book that approaches Childhood Anxiety through the use of comforting and relatable images.”Tucker’s concern over the rise in Childhood Anxiety prompted her to action.“Kids face more stress than ever in our fast paced society. And some struggle much more than others. If left unresolved, Anxiety can lead to a variety of mental health issues later in life.”

Based on the belief that managing anxiety must involve early intervention, Tuckerspoke with experts and conducted focus groups.“I took traditional methods of dealing with Childhood Anxiety, and a few new ones as well, and depicted them via non-threatening characters and beautiful graphics.  It makes the concepts easy and fun for young children to remember.”

Kickstarter was Tucker’s “crowdfunding” platform of choice due to their brand familiarity and wide social media reach. Per Kickstarter’s rules, Tucker has a short fundraising window of time, until midnight December 7th, after which she must reach her goal of $11,000.00 USD.If not, she loses her pledges, and will not receive funding.

“Backer” rewards include everything from owning a copy of the book, to designing the backcover or writing the “Forward”. School Assembly Programs focused on Stress Management techniques are available also.“We encourage our Kickstarter ‘Backers’ to share their ideas for battling anxiety, or encourage Mental Health Professionals to list their Practiceor Organization in the Resources section of the book.”

Hank Was Worried will be available in book form on Amazon and in various Retailers, and in e-book and audio book formats as well. “Having the e-book and audio book available on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and iTunes will allowparents, teachers, therapists and social workers to produce Hank and his friends on their Kindle, Tablet, Laptop, or Phone, whenever it is needed to calm anxiety or to use as a teaching tool”.
