03 January, 2014: Rivets come in all different sizes from standard to metric, and in various styles. Dating back to 1940, the Cherry Rivet Company quickly became the standard for the aerospace industry and are now the leading global manufacturer of fasteners used in aerospace technology.

Cherry Aerospace

Cherry Aerospace manufactures many styles of rivets, for an example, a blind rivet is a multi-piece rivet assembly that can be installed from one side. These are used traditionally for the leading edges, and trailing edges on aircraft that have limited access to both sides of the aircraft.

The CherryMAX line of rivets are locked spindle blind rivets that have an installation washer and the mechanical locking device can be visibly inspected, this eliminates issues that result from worn anvils. The CherryMAX “bulbed” rivet is referred to as such because of the large blind side bearing surface that develops when it is installed. The CherryMAX “AB” fasteners are a shank expanding, flush fracturing, locked spindle structural rivet that provide hole filling performance and sheet take up.
