Ganeshotsav is one of the biggest festivals in Maharashtra. It is celebrated as birth of lord Ganesha, son of shiva and parvati. The elephant god brings together friends and family each year. Ganesha is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any noble deed. He is Vighnaharta - the remover of all obstacles to success. He is Dukhaharta - the giver of fortune and can help to avoid natural calamities. He is also known as Sukhakarta which means the god who brings prosperity and happiness. This festive season, IBN-Lokmat brings to you a series ten days of entertaining show along with live coverage of the utsav for its viewers in the form of “Bappa Morya Re”. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the 4th day of the bright half of Bhadrapad. This festival marks the birthday of Lord Ganesh. As a build up to this religious occasion, there are a series of stories lined up for the preparation of the Ganeshotsav. Eco-friendly Ganpati’s is the norm these days, with various mandals and families opting to go this way. This build-up show will provide an insight into this new initiative. In a special episode of ‘Bappa Morya Re’ a live show, we will showcase all the activities across the state. We will bring in the live coverage of the various celebrations happening across the various mandals. As part of Naivedyam various kinds of offerings are laid before the deity, which will be exclusively covered. Chef Vishnu Manohar will be showcasing various recipe and will be revealing his secret tips.
Bappa Morya Re, program will host some of the best artists, Musicians and celebrities who will be the part of this entertaining program.
On 5th, 6th and 7th day of this festival, It is believed that Gauri, Ganesha's sister come home to visit her brother. This woman centric occasion in Maharastrian houses is celebrated by inviting married daughters to their parents place, cooking food for Gauri which is a very elaborate menu, etc. All over Maharashtra this celebration touches the women's heart. IBN-Lokmat will take women-celebrities to visit Gauris in a few families in Maharashtra. These celebrities will grace the Gauri-function locally in the form of 'Gauri Alya Ghara'. To add more to this exciting series of shows we will also be showcasing ‘Kala Ganesh’ where famous artist will display their renowned work.
