Los Angeles, California - Richie Trimble is excited to announce that he has officially broken the Guinness World Record for riding the world’s tallest rideable bicycle — STOOPIDTALLERâ„¢. What started out a few years ago as a few bike ride meet-ups quickly turned into a game for Trimble and his friends, as he continued to build bigger and better bicycles.

STOOPIDTALLERâ„¢, the record-breaking bicycle, measures at 6.15 meters (20 ft 2.5 in). Guinness adjudicators in Los Angeles officially measured it on December 26, 2013. To break the record, Trimble needed to successfully ride the bicycle 100 meters. The bike frame acted as a ladder for Trimble to climb up and down. All he needed was a wall or a post to lean against so that he could safely make his ascent and descent.

Trimble and his bikes have been featured in articles from around the world including The Huffington Post, Boing Boing Popular Mechanics, The Daily Mail U.K., MIRROR UK, Yahoo News, MSN, and hundreds of other media outlets. His television appearances include the California Tourism ‘Dream Big’ campaign, The Discovery Channel, Outrageous Acts of Science - Muthas of Invention, and cameo appearances in 30 Seconds to Mars music videos.

Why does he do it? Trimble answers, “I do it to see people smile. You can’t help but make someone laugh when you’re riding a bike that’s over six meters tall. From that height, you can see people laughing, pointing, and smiling from a distance. It’s almost like a high—maybe it’s the altitude,” chuckled record breaker Trimble.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Trimble said, “I promised myself and others that I was going to break the world record and bring it back to LA where the world record belongs.”

And what is next? Trimble is already hard at work planning another world record breaker.
