West Sussex, RH19 1HA August 20, 2012 — Business Advisory Service (BAS) this month officially signed the new Third Party Intermediary (TPI) Code of Practice. In doing so, it has committed to becoming a key advocate of E.ON Energy‘s new “Third Party Intermediary (TPI) Code of Practice”. The TPI codes of Practice are a set of standards that set the benchmark for responsible high quality TPI‘s selling of energy to micro businesses.

BAS is a TPI that services both the SME and Corporate customer base of the energy market with sales of Business Gas and Business Electricity. As a result, BAS recognised the benefits of E.ON‘s Code of practice in ensuring that in this instance micro businesses are managed and looked after to a high standard by third party intermediaries since there has been a spate of cases where independent brokers have fallen short in looking after the customer in an ethical manner.

Simon Rand, (BAS Sales & Marketing Director) commented that, “The aim of the code is to address areas of concern that have arisen as a result of TPI‘s being unregulated and ensuring that transparency and ethical behaviour is advocated by all members that sign the code of practice.” He explained how the Code covers a range of practices such as TPI recruitment practices, customer contracts, data protection and complaints.
