Big basket sees huge surge in demand for organic juices & ayurvedic drinks this summer
Bangalore, April 30 2016: bigbasket, India’s largest online supermarket, has seen an 86% increase in demand for organic juices and ayurvedic drinks this summer, according to an in- house survey. This summer there seems to be a clear shift to healthier and natural thirst quenchers in beverages that customer buy as sales for carbonated beverages have comparatively grown by a much lower percentage.
“Our survey shows that customers are becoming more and more health conscious and are moving from traditional soft drinks to healthier organic and ayurvedic juices,” said Vipul Parekh, co-founder, bigbasket. “Health is always everyone’s priority and organic food, healthy diet and supplements are some important daily needs,” he added.
Grocery Orders on bigbasket increased by 29% during the start of the summer season as compared to winter. This reflects the trend of people preferring to order groceries online during the summer than go to a nearby shop, simply to avoid the sweltering heat.
bigbasket has recently launched its ‘Summer Showers’ festival that lets customers shop from its wide range of 20,000+ products at their home and offers great discounts (up to 40%) for a variety of products that keep customers healthy this summer.
