Born on 4th April, 1933 in Nashik, Maharashtra Bapu is known as an economical bowler of Indian cricket team. He started playing cricket in the Rohinton Baria Trophy for Poona University in the year 1950-51. Nadkarni made his first-class debut for Maharashtra cricket team in 1950-51 after that he scored his first century against Mumbai in 1953 in the famous Brabourne stadium where he made 103 runs and played a tremendous innings. His dream of playing in National Indian cricket team was fulfilled in 1955 when he played a test against New Zealand in Feroz Shah Kotla. He was famously known for bowling an unerring line to the batsman. One of his best known records is against England in the Chennai test in 1963-64 where he bowled twenty one consecutive maiden overs without conceding a run.
