Orlando, FL - September 21, 2016 - Supplements are popular among bodybuilders and individuals who want to tone their bodies. While there are supplements that can cause stress, there are also those that are thought to offer many benefits.

Ashwagandha is believed to be helpful in boosting muscle size and strength. Today, there are many body-building supplements that overload the body with chemicals and amino acids. All of these substances can stress the liver, which is bound to process all of these chemicals.

Substances that are foreign to the body often trigger the immune system to kick in and break them down. Therefore, it is imperative for body builders to look for supplements that may boost muscle size and testosterone levels.

Ashwagandha is believed to offer health benefits against more than fifty medical conditions. In Ayurvedic medicine, ashwagandha means “bala”, which pertains to strength.

The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition published clinical research that involved 5 men between the ages of 18 and 50. Prior to the study, these male participants were not involved in any weight-lifting training.

The participants were divided into two groups. One group was placebo and the other was dosed with 300 milligrams of ashwagandha twice a day for eight weeks. It is also important to note that both groups were subjected to a supervised muscle-training program for two months.

The subjects were tested for muscle strength before and after the study with the use of bench press and leg extension workouts. Muscle size, muscle recovery, and fat composition were also measured.

The researchers tested the blood levels of creatine kinase to measure the muscle recovery levels. This is believed to be a marker for muscle injury, which may happen after strenuous workouts.

It was found that the participants who took ashwagandha experienced significant improvements in strength after eight weeks. It is worth noting that the group treated with ashwagandha bench-pressed 46 kilos on average. The placebo group, on the other hand, bench-pressed 25 kilos.

There was also a dramatic increase in muscle size in the ashwagandha group compared to the placebo. This ancient herb is believed to be helpful in building muscle strength and reducing damage to muscle fibers.

The researchers further revealed that the ashwagandha group had a significant reduction in muscle damage, which resulted from their workouts.

Today, there are many people who prefer to use natural alternatives such ashwagandha. One of the reasons is that this natural supplement doesn’t just have the potential to offer a myriad of health benefits, but is also safe to use.
