American Professional Pastoral Counseling Association Oldest of Its Kind.

Dallas, TX - May 21, 2010 -- The APPCA has finally joined the Internet Community after having a long time of mail order and in person interactions. The APPCA is America‘s oldest professional pastoral counseling association. The APPCA exits to protect the public, advocate for the integrity of its members and to encourage self-regulation for the membership.

The APPCA took its first members early in 1950‘s; however, the organization fell dormant with the passing of its founder. The grandson of the founder, Reece Manley, spirituality expert and progressive Christian author has taken up the project and is establishing not only a website but also a social networking site as well.

The APPCA is an association for client advocacy. “Spiritual counseling is often as effective as any other form of psychotherapy, however, it is marginalized in its commitment to true change of the client,” says Reece Manley, President, APPCA. “In addition to advocacy for our clients, we provide recognition and regulation to the public. If a person is not a member of APPCA, consumers may not receive the benefits of receiving services from an authentic professional.”

The Association has an open position toward any faith, members range from Jewish to Baptists. The crux of membership is to be in agreement with the Creed and Mission of the Association.
APPCA is located online at www.appca.org and member dues are $9.95 per month.
