Aleeza Khan is Sooraj Barjatya’s choice
Aleeza Khan who recently replaced Shriya Jha as the female lead of Rajshri Production’s Jhilmil Sitaaron Ka Aangan Hoga on Sahara One, is on cloud nine. Reason: It was none other than film-maker Sooraj Barjatya, who chose her as the new female protagonist of the show.
‘I consider myself extremely lucky that I am getting to play such an important character on a Rajshri Production’s TV show. What excites me more Sooraji’s trust in me. While he shortlisted me to play this role, he also guided me in playing the role of Angana to perfection,’ explains Khan, who’s also happy about teaming up with old friend Aamir Ali again.
Calling him a complete laugh riot on the sets, she says, ‘Aamir is an old friend of mine. It did not take us much time to click as co-stars on screen and off screen as well.’
Meanwhile Ali, who replaced Pankaj Tewari as Soumya on the show, is excited about returning to a banner from where he began his television career. ‘Some time back I was doing FIR and Honge Juda Na Hum and now I am back to where I started my career from. It was with Rajshri’s Woh Rehnewali Mehlon Ki that I made my debut on television,’ he explains. ‘I have had a very good association with the production house. In fact, before I could reach their office, I knew what my role was and what the fresh storyline was all about. All they did was to do a look test with me, and I was on board. Since we have worked before, we know each other’s sensibilities and capabilities. It is good to work with someone who understands you very well,’ he concludes.
