Houston,TX — Bruce Johnson is a prominent member of Houston’s business and entertainment industries. The 1000 Men Empowerment Group, recently launched a campaign to help local children of incarcerated parents. The campaign involves selling The 2015 Entertainment Coupon Books, with the money made benefiting the local Angel Tree program and children of incarcerated parents during the upcoming holiday season. Bruce Johnson’s campaign, and the book, was recently featured on the local ABC affiliate’s ‘Stretch Your Dollar’ segment. http://abc13.com/shopping/food-and-entertainment-coupon-book-goes-digital/358043/

“The book sells for 35 dollars. It has a wide-array of local and national coupons with electronic e-redeem features. We thought the Entertainment Book is a perfect match for this weekend’s Women’s Health & Fitness Expo. There are many restaurants included in the book that provide healthy entrée items.“Women can attend the event, buy the coupon book, and know that they are going to save money while also helping children who are in need. Their support of this book will change lives and provide a merrier holiday season for those in need.”

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, “1.5 million Texas children have a parent incarcerated in state or federal prison and the highest percentage of these children reside in Harris county with Houston leading all Texas cities with 6,617 children with incarcerated parents. Sadly, 75% of women who are incarcerated are mothers.” Texas-based psychotherapist, Dr. Janice Beal, recently noted “One thing I continuously see is depression among this population. The children (of incarcerated parents) express a lot of anger and a lot of aggressive behavior and some anxiety.” Bruce Johnson, and the 1000 Men Empowerment Group, wants to add hope and happiness to the lives of these children by providing value to consumers.

The 2015 Entertainment Coupon Book is complete with a premiere dining pass, which means discounts on higher end restaurants. Geo-locators provides “near you” coupon alerts too. The discounts include everything from food to tax preparation services to sporting events, shopping, travel, and more. https://www.entertainment.com/coupon/fundraising.jsp?FUNDRAISER_GROUP_ID=10566878-155358440
