Arjun Chudasama has produced some highly anticipated works in his fresh career, from music videos to commercials. But recently he produced a short film called “Metropolis II — Highway to Heaven.” This short film (12mins 40 sec) is a touching tale of young Sam, his beloved Grandpa, and their shared love for cars. When Grandpa fails an eyesight test at the DMV he is crushed. Desolate at being unable to drive, he loses the will to live and soon passes away. The line between reality and fantasy blurs as Sam learns that death is not always the end of the road.

Metropolis II: Highway to Heaven accomplishes this transcendent goal in a surprisingly tender way. The film was inspired by the sculpture Metropolis II by Chris Burden, which is on view at Los Angeles County Museum of Arts.

This short film has gone to win several awards including the award of Merit at the Accolade competition.  Also, an award for Best short film category at the NYI film festival, Los Angeles edition and even an Audience Award at the Emerging Filmmaker Forum.
