Although we are currently Australia’s largest, independently owned express freight and courier company, we started out as a small, local delivery business with the same dreams and obstacles as anyone.

We know the challenges an owner-driver faces and what it takes to get ahead and we’re always looking for ways to make the job of our drivers easier and more rewarding. One of the initiatives we offer our drivers is the opportunity to be rewarded for outstanding customer service on a monthly basis. The winners of each month per state are then voted for, for the Allied Express State Driver of the Year, with the this category then voted for the Allied Express National Driver of the Year.

The drivers listed below are awarded for their ‘Above and Beyond’ approach to customer service over 2015 in their State. They are also nominated for the Allied Express National Driver of the Year with Richard Powell from our Queensland depot winning the 2015 National award.

Richard recently was delivering a Foxtel unit to a customer in down town Brisbane. Knocking on the door the customer who answered suffered a seizure and passed out in front of the driver, cutting open his head quite badly. The driver then acted quickly, calling the ambulance and then attending to the customer’s injury. The ambulance arrived and took the customer to the hospital. It was only until the wife of the customer called the Brisbane office to praise the actions of the driver, that literally “saves the customers life”, that the driver admitted to the act, saying, “I only did what anyone else would do”. And that’s just the attitude that sees this driver win the award for 2015.
